Tim just linked me to this NYTimes story about the current state of the Spiral Jetty, and the "conservation" it's undergoing. Interesting stuff; I had no idea when I visited that the silt inside the spiral wasn't there at its creation, but had accumulated over the years. Anyway the bulk of the article is about documentation, and features this striking aerial photo:
